Welcome to our School

Helen gillingham 2(1)

Welcome to St Andrew's School, Much Hadham.  Mrs King was appointed Headteacher of the school in January 2012 and Mrs Gillingham was appointed Head of School in September 2017.

Our school benefits from a fabulous mixture of experienced staff and those new to our profession.  They work very much as a team and have the shared belief that each child must achieve their personal best.

Our high quality teaching promotes effective learning and good behaviour. The emphasis we place on recognising and celebrating effort and success means every pupil feels valued and respected.

The accent is on the positive. In the Bible St Paul writes:

'Never have any grudges against others, or lose your temper, or raise your voice to anybody, or call each other names, or allow any sort of spitefulness. Be friends with one another, and be kind, forgiving each other as readily as God forgave you in Christ.'   Ephesians 4 : 31 and 32

Our most recent Ofsted insepction was in February 2014 and you can view the Ofsted report by clicking here.  Some highlights from the report are:

"Pupils achieve high standards in reading, writing and mathematics"

"Pupils work hard in lessons and are well mannered and polite around school"

"Pupils are thoroughly immersed in literature, from the youngest age, they talk knowledgeably about stories, books and authors they enjoy. The teaching of phonics and of more complex reading and spelling strategies is very good.  By the time they reach Year 6, pupils read and write in depth.  The presentation of their work is exemplary."

We are both very fortunate to be part of such a wonderful and vibrant school.  Please contact us via the school office if you would like to come to visit.
